On the 11th of October, a protocol was signed between APP – Associação dos Portos de Portugal and APIBARRA, aiming to provide the pilots and crews of the speedboats with technical skills for survival at sea and self-rescue, rescue and recovery of individuals in the aquatic environment. , and acquisition of knowledge and skills to provide first aid in the most common accidents, also aiming to improve social and cognitive skills that can support continuous improvement.
It will also include rescue operations under time-limited conditions using “dummie”, as well as the preparation of checklists for emergency situations and standard exercises.
The training components consist of survival techniques at sea, rescue techniques and victim extraction and first aid applied to the most common accidents, lasting 21 hours, plus 4 hours of night instruction, spread over 3 days of training. , without prejudice to the possibility of adding other general or transversal components that reflect local realities.
